Country Roads Back Through Time

Established on April 1st, 1967 the Country Music Hall of Fame is situated at 222 Fifth Avenue South in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The stated mission is to recognize and conserve the developing history and customs of country music and to inform its audiences.

The Country Music Hall of Fame's creation was announced in 1961 by the Country Music Association. The initial Country Music Hall of Fame was opened at Music Row, (Music Square East and Division Street). The museum conducted educational activities; the Country Music Foundation Press, the Country Music Foundation Records and the Country Music Foundation Library were also organized from here. The Country Music Library was created in 1968. The famous sites of RCA Studio B (opened in 1977) and the Hatch Show Print (opened in 1986) were also situated inside the Country Music Hall of Fame. The building that was situated at Music Row for the Country Music Hall of Fame was closed on December 31st, 2000. The building was later demolished to make way for a parking lot.

Ten blocks away in Nashville and a few months later, the Country Music Foundation had its grand opening on May 17th, 2001. The Museum now presents the collection it has to exemplify the story of country music throughout the ages of time. There are memorable country music vide snippets and records. Live performances are also held. A museum store, on-site dinning, the live XM Satellite Radio broadcasts and many public programs are also held here.
